TRIP TO HAWAII
Sometime in early Fall, Fiona reminded us that I had once promised here that we
would go to Hawaii together.
She said it was time and offered a week of her timeshare to spend 2 days in
Honolulu and 5 days in Kauai.
Dec 07 - Arriving in Honolulu
Arriving at Honolulu, we were met with a transit company with leis to take us to
the Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk hotel.
At the hotel we were met with fresh guava juice and another lei.
Dec 08 a Day in Honolulu
The next morning, after a breakfast of eggs Benedict and corned beef at the
hotel in the Giovanni Pastrami restaurant, we
took a walk along the busy street in front of the hotel and met the location of
the Honolulu cookie factory.
(over the next day or so, we managed to stop a few times more!).
Ramona met us later to take us sightseeing to see the Iolani Palace...
and the Cathedral of St Andrew and the government building.
Then we drove first to Diamond head and had fresh pineapple there, then n the east side to see the Halana Blow Hole and the road there.
Ramona left us at out hotel in late afternoon, and we proceeded to walk to Waikiki Beach to see if we could catch the sunrise there.
Time for supper there, so we stopped at a small "hole in the wall" on the beach and gad Loco Moco and Ginger chicken.
Here is the first look at the beach...
Then the sun started setting...
and a couple of sail boats appeared...
e weren't finished yet... We found out that there was to be a Christmas Lights
Trolley Tour this evening, so we skedaddled to the local
department store where we bought tickets to the brightly lit double-decker bus!
Our tour guide Steve was a lot of fun, talking about
HON-O-lulu.
